  • Overview

    The Legal Specialist is responsible for providing support to legal issues relating to company business, intellectual property, product liability, and labor law.




    • Review, redline and assist with negotiating contracts, engagement letters, service agreements, lease and purchase agreements and other types of commercial agreements to ensure consistency with the company’s protocols and best practices.
    • Review and update standard contract templates while identifying terms or clauses in agreements that represent potential compliance, liability or other risks to the Company.

    • Review correspondence concerning contracts and respond as necessary within approved scope of responsibility.

    • Conduct research on legal related issues.

    • Assist in all legal matters for Company’s various branches and subsidiaries, including those located outside the United States.

    • Interpret laws, rulings and regulations and determine how they apply to Company.

    • Research and advise on product regulatory issues.

    • Work closely with outsourced lawyers on legal claims and projects.

    • Assist with contract drafting, administration and tracking of key legal provisions. 

    • Maintain accurate contract records and files for better reporting accuracy.

    • Handle product liability claims, and coordinate with TPA and related departments on product highlighted issues, litigation cases, and recalls. 

    • Coordinate with outsourced lawyer and related departments on trademark and patent related registration processes and infringement issues. 

    • Record legal related costs, provide analysis, and control budget.

    • Misc. projects requested on an as-needed basis.


    • A bachelor’s degree is required. Paralegal certificate is preferred.
    • A minimum of 5 years of recent and direct contract experience, preferably in an in-house or other legal environment.
    • Excellent computer literacy and application skills in desktop computing including, MS Excel, MS Word, and other commonly used office productivity tools.
    • Skilled at researching, investigating and gathering information from internet site resources.
    • Flexible and accommodating and able to go above and beyond the basic expectations when required.
    • Excellent communication, negotiation and writing skills.
    • Experience and knowledge in risk management and evaluation.
    • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment with quick response time.
    • Professional demeanor and team player with high degree of confidentiality a must. 
    • Legal work status in the U.S.
